It is so stressful being a student especially during end of term. I cannot believe how much coursework I need to accomplish by the end of the semester. This does even not include the exams that my professors have line-up for us. Oh cruel world, how I wish I could skip all these academic stuff and straight head on for a summer vacation.
Because of this struggle that I face in my student life, I maintain a list of books for "rainy day", much like my chocolate stash, which instantly makes me happy whenever I am down. These books are feel-good, profound but essentially easy-to-read, and inspirational.

These books are my best companion when I am procrastinating when it comes to doing my academic requisites. I mean come on, I need to clear my thoughts and feel good so that I can have the right attitude when it comes to tackling those academic workload that never seems to end.

Being the good samaritan that I am, I want to share my list with you. Perhaps you can also use be inspired and gain some good insights from them. Hey, you never know a good back can get motivated to do your school work. Here goes:

Harry Potter
If you did not grow up liking HP, then you cannot include this in your own list. I have read the Goblet of Fire for like five times already. It definitely makes me happy. I wish I could be as a great a writer as J.K. Rowling someday. This is why, I continuously practice writing fiction and essays. I hope my Creative Writing professor will notice my efforts and give me a good grade.

The Tao Of Pooh
Like the cartoon Winnie the Pooh, which is for kids as much as it is for adults who could learn a thing or two from the clever bear, it contains basic Taoist principles, which is all for living with content. I remember even discussing this in my Philosophy class and from then on, I got hooked. I now actively search for books on Optimism and Philosophy.

The Little Prince
I really like this book. My copy is now worn out because it's the first book I take from my shelf when I feel out of it. The story teaches you how to see the world as a child again. My middle school English class was never the same again after I have read this book. It made me want not to grow up. Perhaps, this is the reason I still continue to resist being one. I was so into this book that I even aced the pop quiz.

I don't read self-help books, but I am sure there are good ones that can help even the most depressed person out there. I remember using them for my academic writing in literature last year. Aside from your chocolates and sweets, add a book for your breather.
